For the first time in Vienna’s history, we will be organizing a grand Lohri Festival Celebration on Saturday, 11th January 2025. This event promises to be a memorable celebration of one of North India’s most cherished traditional festivals, especially from Punjab.

Significance of Lohri:
Lohri is a festival that marks the end of the winter solstice and the start of longer, sunnier days, symbolizing renewal, prosperity, and joy. It is deeply rooted in agricultural traditions, particularly the harvest of sugarcane and wheat, and is celebrated by gathering around a bonfire, sharing traditional foods like rewari, gajak, and peanuts, singing folk songs, and dancing to Bhangra and Gidda.

We are excited to celebrate this festival in the most vibrant and traditional way, with the aim of fostering unity and preserving our rich cultural heritage. This event is not just a celebration but a heartfelt effort to bring our community closer, spreading warmth and joy in the cold winter.
